WTM London launches its first Technology Summit with more than 10 sessions

WTM London will launch its first travel technology conference track this year, that will run across all three days of the show tol uncover the most important issues facing the sector.

Sessions will address topics including AI ethics, smart tourism and virtual reality.

Launching on November 7, on the Elevate Stage, the first Technology Summit, will welcome Bon Sian Chai, managing director and vice president, international markets of Trip.com Group to present “Reimagining the Future of Travel & Hospitality with Technology” at 14:30.

Other sessions include that moderated by Kate Harden-England, editor of Travolution, on future applications with AI and the boundless opportunities for change in travel. Harden-England will be joined by speakers from TUI, SMARTSEER, Sabre Hospitality and Travel Compositor.

Elsewhere, on Monday 6 November, 14:40, attendees can look forward to hearing about Guardrails for AI and Unintended Consequences on the Discover Stage,

In partnership with the Global Travel and Tourism Resilience Council, attendees will also have the chance to learn more about guardrails for AI with a session by Sam Altman, co-roducer, Innovations of the World and Innovation Officer – US Army Reserve.

Speakers from Almosafer, Trove Tourism Development Advisors and Hotelbeds will discuss how to build a seamless traveller journey with technology.

The event will also feature the WTM Start-Up Pitch Battle, as part of its “ongoing commitment” to the travel start-up community.

The second pitch battle will be hosted on Monday November 6 at 13:20 on the Discover Stage, supported by Amadeus.

The prize is a free exhibition stand at WTM London 2024 and exposure to WTM's expansive network, including all PR opportunities at the show and an interview with the winner.

Amadeus will also provide 6 hours of personalised mentorship with its executive leaders.
